I Am Thankful For...

It shouldn't take a holiday to make us stop and take stock of the things that we are thankful for (and hopefully it doesn't.) But it seems it does take a holiday to make me actually write them down. So as 2007 comes to and end and I reflect back...here are just some of the things that I am thankful for.

-I am thankful for my dad ...and feel blessed to have had him for 83 years.
-I am thankful Steele's dad... for his life of service .
-I am thankful for my mom...for her love and her courage to move forward.
-I am thankful for Steele... for his patience and his ability to make me laugh.
-I am thankful for my children...for helping me to grow far beyond my capabilities.
-I am thankful for sister...who sees my strengths, where I only see weaknesses.
-I am thankful for my brother...who stands taller than any giant.
-I am thankful for my friends...who always lift me and give me a reason to smile.
-I am thankful for good food...it always brings my family home!
-I am thankful for my puppy...who loves to curl up by my side.
-I am thankful for warm fires...they get me through long winter nights.
-I am thankful for the gift of laughter... it truly IS the best medicine!
-I am thankful for the sound of fall leaves under my feet when I'm walking with a good friend.
-I am thankful for our home...and the feeling of peace that it gives me.
-I am thankful for "email"...it keeps me in touch with my family, everywhere!
-I am thankful for summer days on the beach... and the comforting sound of the waves.
-I am thankful for every man and woman that has served our country...I can never repay them!
-I am thankful for faith...it allows me to go forward even on my darkest days.
-I am thankful for good health...and grow more thankful everyday!
-I am thankful for my memories...and pray they are never taken away.
-I am thankful for this life...it's ups, it's downs, and the opportunity I have to experience it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this post. You think you are not a good writer, but this is beautiful! I love Thanksgiving too, I really think it is a preparation holiday so we can get our minds in line for the birth of our Savior. First we have to step away from the world and realize just how much we truly have been given, and be thankful for it. Then we are better prepared to show in our meakest of ways thanks for the birth of the Savior during Christmas. Thanks for helping me reflect too on all the blessings the Lord has given our family.
